CHARTERED WEALTH MANAGER (CWM®) is a globally recognized and highly reputable wealth management certification. The CWM® focuses on developing relationship management, sales, communication and core financial advisory skills to equip wealth management and private banking professionals with knowledge in wealth management, private banking, family office, and financial advisory. Training Outlines

  • Module 1: Update on Global Wealth Management and Local Regulatory Framework (10%)
    This module aims to provide an overview to the world and definition of wealth management and an appreciation of the latest updates developments and trends globally, supplemented with the regulatory framework for wealth management in Hong Kong

  • Module 2: Wealth Management Products (30%)
    This module covers a wide range of products available in the world of wealth management, including funds, fixed income, derivatives, structured products, and various alternative investments such as hedge funds and private equity, with an analysis of their respective issues, challenges and market experiences in recent years

  • Module 3: Portfolio Management Strategies (35%)
    This module covers a board and yet in-depth discussion of the portfolio management process, ranging from understanding client’s investment behaviors, due diligence procedures, appropriate asset allocation, as well as performance measurement techniques

  • Module 4: Risk Management and Wealth Planning Skills (15%)
    Migration of risk and strategies deployed will be discussed concurrently with the identification risk in this module. Tax planning, estate protection, generation planning and other strategies for wealth preservation, wealth accumulation and wealth transfer will also be covered

  • Module 5: Client Advisory and Relationship Management Skills (10%)
    This module focuses on the consultative selling methodology which helps wealth managers to move away from “selling to clients” to “helping clients buy”. Knowledge on how to define, implement and secure a premium service culture and other key interpersonal concepts in wealth management will also be covered

Training Highlights

  • 40-hour of instructor-led training
  • By attending the CWM® program, participants will:

    – Learn about the opportunities of wealth management with specific relevance to Asia
    – Have an overview of the latest innovations in financial products in wealth management
    – Learn the global best practices in wealth management
    – Develop skills in building wealth management solutions for clients
    – Be able to create strategies to build effective relationship with clients
    – Create and increase the capability to think strategically by using a structured process

  • 3-hour bonus workshop (eligible for CPD / CPT) on one of the inspiring topics including Personal Branding and Professional Image, Selling as a Coach with NLP, 360 Communication with Enneagram or Effective Email Communication
  • Free re-sitting of class if exam fails for students with at least 80% of attendance

Chartered Requirements

  • Complete a minimum 35-hour education program at an Approved Training Provider (ATP) of CWM® Institute; and
  • A member of the CWM® Institute; and
  • Minimum 3 years related experience (for university graduates), or minimum 5 years related experience (for non-graduates)
    *Graduate without sufficient experience, will be awarded Associate Chartered Wealth Manager, ACWM

He is holding the following professional qualifications: CWM®, CFA®, CFPTM , CPA, FRM® and so forth, and has conducted a number of CWM® classes in the past 6 years

Mr. Alan Hong
Trainer

With over 20 years experience in wealth management and CPA, Alan is the Senior Vice President of the Sun Hung Kai Financial. He was an award winner in the 41st Distinguished Salesperson Award Programme (DSA) in 2009, which is a well-known international project intended to bring public recognition to outstanding sales personnel. Alan is also a Fitness coach and co-author of popular NLP book《生命的蛻變因NLP而起>>. He is an active trainer and speaker in topics related to wealth management, HNW client communications as well as stress management for various organizations including HKICPA.

Mr. Paul Arundell
Trainer

Paul Arundell is a highly experienced and energetic training professional with over 25 years experience in banking, insurance and wealth management. He has held senior roles in leading financial institutions including Westpac Banking Corporation (Australia), UBS AG and Barclays Bank Plc. At both UBS and Barclays, Paul was responsible for establishing and managing the UBS Wealth Management Academy and the Barclays Wealth Sales & Advisory institute. Since leaving Australia in 2006, Paul has gained extensive global banking exposure through his work in Zurich, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and India
